Jeffrey Katz is an Senior Managing Director of VERTEX’s Commercial Damages and Investigations practice. Mr. Katz is a professional engineer with licensure in multiple states who has been retained as an expert or consultant on large files across North America. Mr. Katz has prepared claims, expert reports and provided testimony on behalf of owners, contractors, subcontractors, and sureties on delay and schedule impacts, productivity claims, quantum / damages, standard of care, project completion costs, unforeseen conditions, design issues, overpayment, construction defects, and more on a variety of project types. In 2018, Mr. Katz was selected as one of Civil + Structural Engineer magazine’s Rising Stars. Mr. Katz is a certified Planning and Scheduling Professional, Certified Construction Manager, and Certified Construction Auditor. He is a member of the ASCE 67 Schedule Delay Analysis Standards committee, and he frequently publishes papers, presents, and lectures on a variety of topics, including claims, delay / schedule analysis, productivity, risk management, standard of care, and construction economics.

Mr. Katz’s experience also includes managing the construction of numerous complicated projects throughout the world, including several mega-projects, and advisory work for project controls. This experience includes public (municipal, state, and Federal, including international projects) and private construction, with projects ranging from military installations, data centers, high-rise and multifamily developments, roads and bridges, hospitals, schools / universities, senior living centers, and more.
